    Were you being somewhat rough?

    Did you bother with foreplay?

What positions were you normally in?

Its very possible that it was physical pain, not an emotional thing.

and the anal-phobia isn't exclusive to girls who have been molested.

If it was an emotional thing, its good that you figured it out early so you didn't figure it out after you get married.

Cut your losses and move on. Your first girlfriend feels like the only one right now, but there are more women than men on this little rock.

A couple years ago I got a tracfone as a cheapo backup phone. All the calls I get on this damn phone are from debt collectors looking for someone I've never heard of. Sometimes I get 6 or 8 calls a day. I've found it's not even worth answering these calls anymore, so if I don't recognize the number, I no longer answer that phone.

This is what you've done to us!

Just kidding, I know it's not you. But if you have any words of wisdom on how to get these guys to stop calling, I'd like to hear 'em.

with frys having an $80 1.5TB HD this week i'm guessing that the 2TB drives will be around $80 or $100 by the time this makes it out of a trade show. although this would weigh more it should be smaller than 7 of these disks with the crazy protection they are going to need to be handled.

this would have a write many times, transfer rate of ~100MB/s, and an access time orders of magnitude faster. it would also require nothing more than something like the thermaltake dock (it is like an ipod dock for sata drives) built into something that decodes the normal codecs (these exist already but sans the dock). then you could have the full simpsons collection in 1080p on one small drive, the cost of the drive being only $40 and so on. much better than what they are proposing.

What makes you sure that logic holds everywhere?

What if you did a big long complicated proof about something well-understood like the integers, and came up with statement S being true. Then you did another proof, and came up with statement ~S being true. What would you conclude?

What if proofs sometimes were correct, and sometimes not? What if the truth of a mathematical proposition only moves at the speed of light, and someone far enough away could prove the opposite of what we've proved on Earth?

Sure, we haven't encountered that, but that's just a scientific observation.

As I said, it's just silliness. I don't expect there's anyplace that logic doesn't apply.

But check out a book by Greg Egan called "Luminous" where he explores this idea. He does good stuff.

    >and have stuck with western RPGs

Can you give some examples? Do you mean like F3 / Mass Effect / Two Worlds type games?

\*Edit: Reason I ask is, they are so completely different, I've never really considered them to be useful replacements for each other. Just wondered if there were some good western alternatives to Final Fantasy, since 12 was horrible and I don't have (and have no pressing intention to get) a PS3 or XBox 360, so there's a fair chance I'll be skipping 13, as well.

Everybody falls into stereotypes. I do perpetuate stereotypes from time to time and you have put to light the fact that it really does bother people. I know personally I can be a dirty he-slut pig, who tromps around on feelings, but normally that isn't ever who I am. I can and do cook an clean from time to time too!

I have come to accept everybody until they give me a reason not to. All I can do is hope that others do the same. Just stick in there and be who you are and people will love you for that or they can go to hell. Be real.

-I love perverts. Talking and doing are entirely different things. You can let out your kinky and not be a slut.

If he was hired as an employee, what you say is true. If he's being hired on contract for the specific features, then the terms of the contract are open to negotiation. It's possible that he was presented with a standard contract. If it was a standard contract, there's plenty of room to negotiate. If the software is open source and the contract hasn't been signed yet, it might be worth asking if the changes could be contributed back. Maybe offer a note in the credits that Company XX, Inc funded the development of features X, Y, and Z. Point out that good will in the opensource community can help attract quality developers.

In any case, the time to negotiate over rights and stuff is before signing the contract, not after.

How much money you need and how soon would help. Are you not able to make tuition which is due next week or are you trying to get through the semester on a shoe-string budget and need money for food?

I've been broke in school... a lot... and as long as I have tuition covered (loans) and rent accounted for (loans and part time job), I've found I can bring my remaining expenses down to nearly nothing if need be. Examine your budget and ask yourself if the things you're currently paying for are absolutely necessary for your ultimate goal - graduation?

Some suggestions that have been made - donating eggs takes time and is quite hard on your body. Donating plasma (I actually worked at a plasma donation facility) is also quite hard on your body - you need to eat a lot of protein to make up for what you just donated (which costs about what you just got for the donation) and it is not without risk. Those guys sticking a needle in you don't have very much medical education - I know, I was one of them.

EDIT - Go talk to your financial aid office. They're pretty good about helping with this kind of thing. They can hook you up with an emergency loan if need be.

i know that. see, anarchists believe that no government is the solution. so, (try and follow me here, i know this is confusing) my comment was *ironic* in the sense that i was really commenting about how effective this guy is and how he's created a government. so instead of just saying that (and believe me, this ridiculous thread has convinced me never to attempt the ironic around here ever again) i used *sarcasm*.

get it? i meant to sort of put down the dim bulbs over in anarchism-sub reddit.

i maybe should go over to ebaum's or fark where the i.q.s are a little higher.

    >While this is a good system for PC games, and even certain console titles, does it really make sense for handhelds?

It works perfectly well on the iphone. The problem is more what sony expects to sell a game for. Their games simply aren't so much better than an iPhone's any more to justify the price difference.

Physical media is a terrible fit for handheld gaming. You can't carry around very many physical games in your pocket. They aren't very big so they don't take long to download, and the media's not terribly fast either. The only good thing is the after market in games. iPhone's fixed that by ushering in an age of reasonable pricing. So reasonable, in fact, that I almost never think twice before I make a purchase. Most games cost less new on the iphone than they do second hand on the PSP.

I still carry my PSP in my laptop bag, but I haven't used it since I got my iPhone. Sony's already lost the game. Anyone who wants a PSP Go so that they don't have to carry around a bunch of UMD's much better served by getting an iPhone or iPod touch.
